RAA can provide a complete art curriculum or project based art programs for elementary schools
(Kindergarten through 5) and middle schools (grades 6 through 8).
Current Client since 2008 Sacred Heart School, Roslindale
RAA teaches art basics (art history, drawing, composition, color, 3D) for over 350 students at Sacred Heart School, Roslindale in grades Kindergarten through 8. Each student receives up to one hour per week of art instruction. The program also includes a student art exhibit for the parents and the public at the end of the school year. In November 2009 Sacred Hearts students participated in Roslindale Open Studios.
According to Monica Haldiman, Principal of Sacred Heart School, Roslindale,
“The development and implementation of a comprehensive art program at Sacred Heart School, in partnership with the Roslindale Arts Alliance, has made a major contribution to the overall achievement at the school. Instructors, Glenn Williams and Cheryl Murphy have introduced students, some as young as three years old, to a myriad of art mediums. Some of these students have never sculpted before, nor heard of various art techniques, or saw the beauty of a Monet! Development of the whole brain, and the innate talents gifted by God, is key to developing the critical thinking skills necessary in the 21st Century.
