1st Annual Battle of the Arts and Summer Arts Fest
at DCR Martini Shell, Hyde Park

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation in partnership with the Hyde Park Arts Association announces the "1st Annual Battle of the Arts and Summer Arts Fest.” This free, fun family event will take place on Saturday, August 7 from 12-3 p.m. at the DCR Martini Shell Park at 1015 Truman Highway in Hyde Park.

Local artists (age 16 and older) from Greater Boston are invited to showcase their art talents in a plein air (outdoor) venue that will be open to the public. Artists will compete for donated prizes and all judging will be done by a "People's Choice" voting system. There is no fee for participating.

The Massachusetts DCR Park Rangers will host a Summer Arts Festival including family arts and crafts activities such as chalk art, stamp printing, tattoo you, group mural sketching workshops, natural dying and bead making. In addition the Dorchester Saxaphone Quartet will play for your listening pleasure. Fun for the whole family.
