The Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation explores the inventions that powered America into the modern age -- steam engines, generators, timepieces, machine tools, bicycles, automobiles, and hundreds of other gizmos - plus the geniuses who perfected them.

Located on the Charles River in the historic 1814 Boston Manufacturing Company textile mill, Museum building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as America's first factory.

Our 2010 Spring Fundraiser will be Saturday, May 15th from 7:00 - 10:00 pm at The MAC.

The Hyde Park Art Association was founded in 1988. We are now a 501c3 nonprofit organization and are run by volunteers. We recently opened The Menino Arts Center (The MAC) which provides affordable artist studios, financial aid for students in need, weekly free studio time for the general public, free monthly art education and appreciation seminars, twelve gallery exhibits annually, a meeting space for other 501c3 organizations and schools in need of space.

America's Orchestra, the Boston Pops, is celebrating its 125th Anniversary this season with a special contest to bring a family of four to Boston to celebrate with the Pops on July 4th, 2010.

Each Pops season culminates with the nation's largest Independence Day celebration - the Boston Pops Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular on the Charles River Esplanade and broadcast nationally on CBS. In celebration of our anniversary, The Pops is launching a national contest to bring a family of four to the Fourth of July concert with airfare, accommodations and ground transportation to and from Logan airport.

To enter, contestants must submit a 125-character-or-less message describing why the Pops should choose their family for a trip to Boston’s famous July 4 celebration this year. Entries can be submitted via text message by cell phone, on the Pops Facebook and Twitter pages, or on the Boston Pops website. All submissions are due by May 15.

In a safe and nurturing atmosphere, this six-week series will teach the beginning student the foundations of yoga. Starting with standing and seated poses, the body will also be prepared for inversions and mild backbends. Moving at each student's individual pace, a better understanding of body alignment and balance will be gained. Students will experience greater sensitivity and freedom in the body.
